La Quinta Inn by Wyndham Detroit Southgate

Full time business traveler (200+ nights/yr) who almost never leaves reviews. This hotel would easily qualify for my new favorite based on value for the price if not for the road noise which is substantial. Everything else was above and beyond what you get for double the price.

Visited Michigan for a weekend of tree chopping and fooding, and happened upon the La Quinta as our hotel. Decently priced at under a hundred bucks and you can count us in! The rooms were clean, sheets and all linens unsullied, and the bed had a mattress pad. Wonderful. C cord slots in the alarm clock, in case you forgot your charging block. (Which we did because this was impromptu for us). The Wi-Fi gave us no issues and, I must say, the breakfast was the best of all the 3rd tier hotels I have found An automatic pancake maker. Yes, and they're good! Boiled eggs. Muffins. Fruit. Yogurt. Cereal. Even plenty of tables. It was a nice place to find on a budget and on short notice. I'm the average American, not wealthy; it's nice to find places that won't break the bank but still check most of the boxes. I'll be back... Michigan has beautiful trees.

I stayed a week here. This is a lovely location and the staff was sweet and helpful. Their breakfast was simple. During my stay they got a pancake machine and they were delicious. Some of the extended stay guests were characters but they weren’t bother. My only gripe was that sometimes the lobby would smell like cigarettes really bad. The clerk overnight drove home her no smoking policy (“my sign and my parking lot”) when it reeked of cigarette in the lobby and elevator. The windows in our first room didn’t open. But our second room was great! Thank you for our lovely stay. Would recommend. Would stay again. Stand out Employees were Denise. She was the best. Very sweet and accommodating. Manager was great as well her name is escaping me at the moment.

You know i was skeptical because of some of the reviews and due to being a traveling millwright I tend to spend most of my time in a camper so reviews were important on this turn around as I didn't want to pay an arm and a leg for Michigan state parks it was cheaper to stay in a room however the negative reviews on here must've had their cheerios pissed in for some reason or another because this is a really really nice hotel and its cheap there's not bed bugs or roaches however the cold truth of it is even the high priced hiltons get bedbugs from time to time and roaches its unavoidable people from all walks of life enter these places and bring critters with them when youve travelled the country as much as me and your best friend works for orkin you learn that phantom kills roaches and crossfire kills bedbugs and if youre that worried about it you can order the chemical online and spray your room down ...the hallways dont reek of Marijuana its a 40 year old building of course it smells like smoke stale smoke doesn't go away ! the beds are comfy ,the water is hot,and its cheap what more can you ask for?

It wasn’t just about checking me in or doing the basics — it was the way he treated me with respect, patience, and understanding. He made sure I was comfortable, answered every question thoroughly, and handled everything with excellence. In a time where customer service can sometimes feel rushed or impersonal, Darien made it feel personal and sincere. You can tell when someone is just doing a job, and you can tell when someone actually cares. Darien cares. His attitude, work ethic, and willingness to go above and beyond made a real difference in my stay. Quality Inn is blessed to have him. Employees like Darien are the reason guests return. Staff were great clean room a n day it was very nice to have the air conditioner work. To cool down the warm room. We a used to sleeping cold and a fan on. It was great. We will be back

I had a very good stay at La Quinta Inn by Wyndham Detroit Southgate. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful.

The staff very nice. It felt at home when we got to our room. Also I need to brag about the house keepers the rooms are very clean and they do the job really good it nice to see housekeepers happy to be there and cleaning which I been to many hotel recently and this hotel out beat them on how the rooms are clean. When need something or had any questions they was very helpful. They are remodeling and they construction worker also nice and doing awesome job. We will be back for sure. Thank you for making our family feel right at home for a week.
